So I am in the process of purchasing a 19in gaming LCD...I have narrowed it down to:

Samsung Syncmaster 915N
Samsung Syncmaster 930B
Hyundai Imagequest L90D+

They are all listed at 8ms, however, each have their strengths and weaknesses. The 915N has no DVI, I can't find any reviews of the 930B which looks like a 915N with DVI. Reviews of the L90D+ have been good, but I've seen several customers mention that they got a panel with dead pixels. Can anyone help me out? I am leaning towards the 930B...it seems to be the best choice, but I am feeling lost.

Thx in advance. (Price is not an issue)

I would go with the panal with DVI support. Its a lot better than analog/D-sub.

Welcome to my nightmare Vicerall, I'm in exactly the same boat! I also can't find any reviews of the 930b and the 915N's lack of DVI disqualifies it in my book.

Some other monitors you may not have considered which are supposedly good for gaming:

Dell 190FP
Viewsonic VP191

Oh, and if you can wait until May, Viewsonic has the new VX24 with a claimed 4MS response time. (I'll believe it when I read it in Tom's Hardware.)

Anyone else out there care to opine on 19" LCDs for gaming?

the new viewsonic has 4ms gray-to-gray, which is what the 930b has as well. the 5ms typ compared the the 8ms typ of the samsung is more impressive however.

Agreed, the "typ" number is probably the better indicator of actual performance, which would make the VX24 superior to the 930b in theory. Of course, all the manufacturers exagerate their response times, so you really will need to wait for an enthusiast review of both monitors by Tom's or anandtech. CNET and PC World's LCD reviews suck.
