this is for the guys in the I WANNA thread

the best price on an Optiquest Q95 you'll find is through an Onvia/Staples deal. Onvia has it for $330, pricematch that from staple's cost of $362 and then apply a $40 coupon for a price of $290. with free shipping you should be set.

i've been looking for a monitor myself, specifically the KDS AV-195TF. so far the best i've found is through the same routine, pricematch onvia's $425 pricetag and use a $40 coupon for $385. there are some stores that carry it for $390 you can pricematch to like buy.com, however staples pricematches that price AND their overnite shipping charges, so with buy.com i'm assuming that's going to be way more then onvia's $425 shipped price. if someone has a better deal on the KDS AV-195TF please reply =D

for those of you wonder the specs for the KDS AV-195TF are here: http://www.kdsusa.com/ALL/Avitron/AV-195TF.htm

better then my PS790 ;)

I think ZeroBurn was talking about 40 off coupon at Staples that you can use after pricematching.
However, I don't know if you will be able to pm Onvia. Staples says they don't pm unless they have their own inventory, which Onvia doesn't. I didn't have any luck pm with Onvia (on a different item), but YMMV.

the coupon is $40 at staples, that's why you have to pricematch it to onvia

pricematching isn't perfect, it differs with every CSR. if one CSR says no you can't, you can always try calling back and getting another one. i've always gotten my matches on staples from onvia, even though sometimes i had to call back. you may not have as much luck, but you should know that it is doable

Maybe you can PM Amazon?? They list the Q95 for $299.94. Staples will probably add in Amazon's shipping (but maybe you'll luck out and get a CSR who won't think of it.) Even with shipping, it should run about the same as onvia's ~ $330, so if staples CSR won't PM onvia, you can prob still get the deal PM-ing amazon.

I know pricematching varies from CSR to CSR, and I have tried to pm Onvia many times with different CSRs. That's the only reason I say it will be hard to pm Onvia. Like I said, YMMV.

I've been told by several CSR's from Staples that they won't PM Onvia. Makes no sense as Buy.com does not keep their own stock, and they will PM them any day.

I did get Staples to waive SHIPPING on my new Monitor (I had them PM with Buy.com) then .... I simply told the Staples rep ... that Buy.com had FREE shipping for orders over $50 (forgot to mention that it did not include heavy items.... i.e., monitors .. hee hee), and the CSR did'nt even check. This made me an excellent deal on the monitor.

Any way.... I will keep trying to get them to PM Onvia. They really should have to.... if they are going to PM other online vendors (they all drop ship).

I ordered the Syncmaster 17" for a family member. Buy.com and Onvia were neck and neck on the price. The CSR from staples is/was Reggie. Not sure if you can request him or not. But it might get you free shipping on a new monitor!?

To pricematch, you simply call the Staples 800 number and tell them you saw the exact product elsewhere for less? Then, if they accept, you give them the coupon code over the phone? Or how does this work.. You can email me if this is getting too off-topic (it's in my profile).

Thanks..

hehe don't worry about it =)

to pricematch just call them and tell them what you'd like to order, then ask them to please pricematch it to somewhere else, then give them the URL. they'll check it right there.

after that then ask them if you can use a coupon, and give them the code. they'll enter everything in and ask you for your CC, info, etc. then they'll say itsallgood and give you the expected shipping date and final price =)
