1998 Jaguar XJ8 leaking... water?

I borrowed a friend's car, very nice 1998 Jaguar XJ8 and it appears to be leaking something. I put a piece of paper towel under the leak to see what it was and it is clear and odorless and seems like it is water. It doesn't make much sense to me but I've never heard of leaking water from under the car. And no it hasn't rained in a long time.

Was the AC on? The AC compressor condenses water out of the air, and sometimes this is mistaken as a leak.

Not the compressor, it's condensation from the evaporator under the dash collecting in a drain pan and dripping outside.

Durr, I spaced and got that totally backwards. Compressor's the hot side, evaporator's the cold. Doy.

oh thanks guys... derr that makes sense, should have thought of that. Good to know as I'm needing to do loads of driving these next few days.
