I have a 1995 Crown Victoria that i am putting a new head unit in. The harness with the speaker wires broke so i need to hard wire it. The Vic has the premium sound in it. It has 2 gray shielded wires and can not find the color code for them anywhere. Dose anyone have any ideas?

Is one solid gray, and the other gray with a purple/blue/or white stripe? Or any stripe for that matter?

Ford radio harness wiring:

Reading that it looks like you've got an external amplifier. You do not want to cut that harness off. You're going to need an adapter to bypass the factory amplifier. You'll need to find the factory amp. Usually behind the glovebox door.

Also if you've got the premium sound system then you need a different harness adapter from Metra.

The premium factory head unit is a JBL. With the right harnesses you should not need to cut anything. The trick used to use was to go on crutchfield.com and put in my year and model of car. Crutchfield will give you the harness adapters for free when you buy from them. They list out all the ones you need and then you can just shop those part numbers to see if you can get them cheaper. Sometimes the whole shooting match is cheapest from Crutchfield anyway.
