1994 Toyota 4Runner gets 13MPG

i borrowed my boss's 1994 4runner, that thing gets about 13 mpg gallon, highway and city.

Is this normal for this car? It's the V6 model.

Can't wait till i get my 86 accord back, i'm getting about 27 mpg

Older SUVs all suck. So, ya that's normal.

My father was considering a Land Cruiser instead of the Explorer he used to have (back around '97) and asked our mechanic, who was actually strictly import and did us a favor by working on the Explorer when it needed something (never did need anything other than routine stuff in 150,000 miles). Mechanic's advice: "Don't get it. Those things make your Explorer seem as fuel-efficient as a Geo." We used to get 21-22 mpg from that 1st generation Explorer.

yeah, prices are cheap compare to Europe, but it take me about 30 miles to drive to work. That's about an hours drive for me in northern virginia with traffic.

In other part of the world, they don't drive as much as we do.

Yup I think hes right, I have a Land Cruiser and it has horrible mileage. What do you expect from a 2.5 ton vehicle! Though I'm sure the landcruiser could take a much bigger beating than an explorer.
