Well, the pics do show it in good shape FWIW.
People are so fvcked. That is just stupid beyond. Not that I blame you, if I could get some dolt to pay that for a 14 year old civic with that many miles I would, too! Honda tax, as mentioned above, it makes people go crazy.

Yup the honda market is insane. I'll be picking up the Del Sol tomorrow. I'll post pics when I get it!

Its the definition of girls car

You could say the same about a Miata but I hear those are fun to drive.

To each his own I guess.

btw...what do you drive?

plus I really like the convertible aspect of it as well, while keeping the hard top. Don't really care if people think its a chick car. I think i'll enjoy it, at least more than my civic 😉

Those prices are insane, $6000 for a '93 Honda anything is just nuts. IIRC it's basically the Accord platform with a dress on..

Yeah! It's crazy! I bet people are willing to pay around that too, espeically since the del sol has been discontinued.

Just remember that if you do get this car, you will most likely have to reinforce the floor as those had a major issue with body flex because of the missing structure from the roof. these are not t-tops but a targa type. That is one reason why that model lasted only 4 years.

Yeah! It's crazy! I bet people are willing to pay around that too, especially since the del sol has been discontinued.

Well, one would be hard pressed to find a better drive train than what Honda was putting out in the early '90's but an 18 year old car is still looking at issues eventually but if your handy with car repair then maybe. Me, I would look at a different model/year for $4000..

Not Accord platform 😀

It's most related to the CRX which it replaced, which is really a small Civic chassis.

Stock they're 2300lbs, not too shabby.

OP, here's a decent link on the D16Z6 that's in the '93-'95 Civic Del Sol Si Models.

Thanks! I'll look into that.

I'll probably bring it to my mechanic to get initial work done (timing belt, replace belts, fluids, tune up).

Picking it up around 7 tonight, if everything checks out

Yeah get that belt done pronto. 81k miles is getting to the replacement point, but more importantly it's old, and old belts = weak.

USE OEM BELT FROM HONDA, do not use VatoZone or whatever's budget belt. It's not worth saving $6 and then having a belt that's ever so slightly out of whack.

I had one for a few years when I was college and loved the car. My only gripe was there is no chime for when the lights are on, I became very proficient with jumping the battery. The interior is quick drying so if it gets rained on the seats are dry very quickly. 4K is way to much but they are good cars.

Yeah exactly what I'll be using it for, college. 4k does sound a lot and it did at first but, I could always spend that 4k on a used newer Honda with twice the mileage, and probably not 1 owner female driven car.

Just want a reliable car, and I think the whole convertible aspect is sweet. Plus its a Honda and I bet i'll be able to get at least 2 to 3 grand when I graduate...if I decide to sell it 😉

and yes I'll be scheduling that timing belt soon, once I get the car.
She had the clutch slave cylinder? Replaced and I think the radiator. New battery, typical maintenance.

$4k with no B16a... barf
I would've gotten a decked out miata for $4k. You could find an excellent condition M-edition for that price.

Why not buy a Miata? RWD, dedicated convertible chassis, RWD, lighter, RWD, awesome handling, RWD....

I needed a car fast, with school and work coming up, I was lucky to find this car.

Anyways I did a quick search at columbus.craigslist.org for a miata and many are priced higher with more mileage :/

Getting the timing belt and other belts replaced Thursday. Probably a bunch of other miscellaneous stuff as well. Car has an issue where if I say stall the clutch or sometimes try to start the car after a warm start, it will hesitate to start. It'll crank and crank and crank and eventually it'll go. Mechanic thinks distributor cap so we'll see.
