I was thinking I could drill out the spot welds and install a new radiator support, but I'm concerned about frame alignment. Some have suggested that I measure the door to front fender gaps. Is that essentially measuring the length of the fender. the drive side fender is bowed out a bit. Some have also suggested measuring distances from ball joints to a spot on the car. Would the end of the door work or would I need to use a point on the under carriage for reference? Does this look salvageable. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

it actually doesn't look that bad. you're replacing everything in front of the engine and the fenders. it's going to be a lot of labor. parts are dirt cheap on ebay.

in the service manual for the car there should be a 'body dimensions' section with diagrams detailing the distances between critical points on the body. these are usually distances in mm between multiple bolt holes. you take a tracking gauge ( basically a rigid piece of steel/aluminum with adjustable pointers on the ends ) and bend until you get as close as possible.

edit: you're looking for diagrams like this:

Yeah it doesn't seem too bad to me, I'm just looking for confirmation and some tips before I start this. I don't want to get too far into a teardown before I realize the car was in better shape for adjustments before I took it apart. I think this is the diagram I need. So the tracking gauge is for measurement/reference.
