Nope. I think it was the emissions tests they failed. But there is a 25 year limit.

I thought you guys had more lax restrictions than we did. For example I thought you guys had R34's ... unless they're passing emissions and R32's aren't.

R32 have been in Canada for awhile since our limit is 12 year or something

This is by far the most over rated/over hyped car since the release of Fast and Furious.

Great car and all but not worth the hype.

So true. Cars in the 80s and 90s were pretty poor all things considered compared to today's. I had a '91 Eclipse Turbo that was a tremendous value speed and power-wise, but now it gets beaten handily by family sedans.

I guess it has the NSX factor - it was a dream car at the time and that's its real appeal today. The look of the NSX has held up (IMHO), but the Skyline was never that pretty to me and its performance compares to a WRX of today.

I thought it was due to them not being rated for safety as well, at least, that was the reason you couldn't import them IIRC. It might be that after a certain arbitrary wait period (25 years in this case), the regulations for cars requiring to pass these inspections was over.

I am not a huge fan of the R32, but I do like the R34. I doubt I will be importing one of these when they are available. The cost for what you get is just too high.
