Hey guys, I am piecing my system together now and I need some advice from the experts. I am going to be running the following items in an '89 Corolla DLX with the stock alternator and battery (I believe) still installed:
Kenwood eXcelon X959 HU
MTX Thunder240 amp 80wx2 @ 4 ohms
2 4" 50W RMS speaks in front (Maybe Infinity Kappa)
Alpine MRP-350 amp in back 200w x1 @ 4 ohms
2 Boston Acoustics FX92 6x9s hooked to Alpine
Hifonics BX1000D amp @ 1ohm (1000W x1 or 500W to each sub)
2 Infinity Perfect Kappa 10.1Ds in a .66 sealed box
Any recommendations on electrical problems that will occur? I'm pretty sure I'll need a new alternator, but I thought I'd just post and ask. I haven't checked the Amp output of the alternator yet, but a guy at my local Tunex said anything over 300w would fry it.... Seeing as I'll be pushing around 1300 or so (ideally- 500x2 to subs, 100x2 to back, 80x2 to front) and I think I'll have a problem. What should I do with regards to electrical system, or the actual components of my system? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Basically because I only have the option of putting 4" speakers in my dash (that's they only mounts there are in the front) and there isn't room on the doors for anything. I got the Bostons for 40 bucks and the Alpine amp for 75 bucks, so they were both steals. What would you recommend, cuz I did hear that front is a LOT more important than rear, but I don't know how much I can do with 4" mounts only...
The RMS on the bostons is like 50-120 I believe, and the RMS on the Kappa's (if I buy them) is 50, with peak at 100 W I think. LMK what you think would be better, I'm totally up to suggestions!
EDIT: I'm going to be using the Alpine MRP-M350 amp, which is a subwoofer mono amp to power the rear 6x9s. It only plays 20-200hz, so I was planning on setting the LP X-over to 75ish and just using them for some midbass help since 4" speakers aren't exactly known for their bass response. That way I would have healthy midbass, and still retain my front stage sound from the 4" coax's.
