1984 bag of Doritos... UPDATED

I work at a University. We were cleaning out a grad student area and lodged behind an old TV was a bag of Doritos, with chips still in them, FROM 1984!!!!! Whoa!!! Talk about a flashback... it was like looking back in time. For that reason, it was a pretty cool discovery, but it's also kind of disgusting considering this group of grads hadn't cleaned this area for over 22 years!!!

Remember they used to make Corn Chips?

I didn't dare eat one, but I thought this was ironic too!! The chips are still crunchy btw!!! I smashed a few just to see.

Wow, I could really go for some 1984 Doritos with extra cheese flavour right about now. If only I had some brownie mix to dip them in...

HAHA I remember when the bags looked like that! They also had, around the same time or a bit after, that Salsa Rio flavor which I'm STILL PISSED that they discontinued! Check out the old-school nutrition labels on that thing.

I don't believe those are really from 1984. I notice the date on the bag....but a few things don't add up to me. I don't believe they started "freshness dating" chips until the late 1980s/early 1990s.... Plus, I remember that bag design.....just can't put my finger on when they stopped making them.

I'm just thinking they may be a few years newer than 23.
