1976 Trans Am - Firebird

I have an oppurtunity to pick up a 1976 Firebird with a 350 V-8 and T-Tops. The body does not appear to be in too bad of shape and it has no transmission.

Just wondering if anyone has any words of advice on possibly fixing up this car or if anyone has worked on this model or own one.

Would it be worth 600 dollars in the shape it is in to fix up and possibly resell? The interior might need some work and has alittle rust. Any advice would be appreciated.

Resell? I dunno. Fix up and enjoy? Certainly. But it will be a money pit. Esp if you want the inside to look good too.

Waste of money. You won't be able to make anything off of it. A transmission will cost you a pretty penny, and there is to much work needed on that car, plus it's an ugly body style.

Dude, those cars were a POS when they were brand new. Avoid like the plague.

I've had lots of mid 70's cars and no one made anything to last 30 years ago. Plus, they handle like you're driving on a waterbed.

Those cars have great potential and style if done right. That's a piece of history man.

As others have said, it is not a worthwhile investment for profit. But if you want a nice classic car to fix up, there is a lot you can do with it and could turn out to be an awesome vehicle; but only with lots of time and money. Did I mention lots of money?

First off, that's not a Trans Am.

It'd be a good deal if you had three more of them in your back yard for parts, but it's going to cost a LOT of money to make a presentable car out of it.

If you want to do some research, go to www.yearone.com and price out some parts - especially interior parts like seat covers.
