1973 Mach 1

Figured I would share this since the car is pretty much done. This has been a very difficult 10 year project due to various issues and jokers who worked on the car. My dad and I bought it in 2001 for a father-son project and tribute to my mom. In 2009 I took sole ownership and began tinkering with it again. This summer I reached the point where all of the remaining work was far beyond my expertise and I needed to either find the right guy to finish it or get rid of it.

I happened to be talking to a guy from Symantec on a conf call at work. We talked about cars and I mentioned this project. He told me about a guy who specializes in car restorations and wasn't far from me. Checked out his references and work and was impressed. Had him come out to look the car over and discuss my plans. He picked it up a week later and and 4 months later I got the car back.

Too bad it's now winter, but I did at least get to put about 50 miles on it.

That is a mighty fine drive you have there op. Something truly to be proud of. The fact that you get to keep a part of your dad and mom with the car in its history makes this one a lifelong keeper!

damn nice car with a 351 cleveland to boot wow. My dad loves this mach 1 and almost bought one.

My brother had a '72 with the metallic blue and silver pin striping, best looking car in the neighborhood, everyone loved it, the 351 Cleveland was stout too, 4 bolt mains, dual points and a nice exhaust note. '73 was the last of the 'stangs before the switch to the Mustang 2 series and was featured in "Gone in 60 seconds", sweet car OP, enjoy!..
