I saw a yellow & black Mustang that seemed to be in pretty good condition for $5900. Is that a good price?

Original parts? Does the door sticker match the car as it is? What's been replaced?

I just drove by it while coming home. It looked like it was in very good condition from the outside. I didn't get a chance to pop her open.

I'am not a big fan of the 71-73 stangs but if the right Mach 1 or maybe a really nice fast back popped up for $5900 I might be interested. If its just a really nice coupe I wouldn't pay that much for it.

Depends. I've been looking for a 66 coupe to restore. Prices are normally 2800-3300 for ones that you wouldn't really wanna drive around all the time. Fully restored cars, like fubak has (he has my dream car) Pic I've seen going for around $15k. But those are damn nice rides, which I hope to have one day.

Go to eBay motors and do a search for 71 mustang completed and see what it turns up. Look what the ones around $6000 look like.

Do some price comparison first, if you're really interested in the car go ask some questions about it to the owner, couldn't hurt to ask. :)

According to NADA $5900 would be above average retail for a 2 door hardtop (plain jane) '71 Mustang, but you would need to get more info about options and such (like which engine it has) as well as the specific model (NADA lists 10 different models for the '71 Mustang).

That could be a good price on the following conditions:

1. NO RUST!
2. Paint that looks good from no less that 10' away
3. NO RUST!
4. Decent interior - faded carpet and 1 or 2 small tears in seat OK
5. Mechanically sound - can be your daily driver without any additional work
6. NO RUST!

Got Pics?

I drove by there again trying to get some pics, but it was gone. Looks like I've gotta go to Jack in the Box more often from now on and hope that it'll be there again.

I'm not a fan of that body style.
