Clearly mandating children to use the phrase "under God" violates the Constitution. Beyond a reasonable doubt.

And the insanity of forcing children to take a pledge to their country is as idiotic an idea as has ever been born.

There are multiples "versions/interpretations of. God.

Tbe phrase is dictating what to use.

The pledge is a way of reinforcing loyalty and understanding of tbe roots.

Pay attention to the actual verbiage and what it attempts to convey.

I started refusing to stand and recite the pledge around my sophomore year of high school. I got kicked out of more than one class for refusing to even when I explained it was on religious grounds because I don't believe in any god and forcing me to claim that I consider this nation to be "under god" was extremely insulting to my beliefs. Kinda wish I'd pushed the issue and sued now, but my parents would never have gone along with that anyway.

Some kid in my junior high did the same thing. IIRC they told him it's ok to just skip the under god part. Similar to how they can't make you say the "...so help me god" when doing an oath in court.

I refused to recite the pledge in high school as well. Sometimes I was asked to stand, but that was it. the idea of reciting a pledge to your country as children is freaking creepy.
