Personally, I'm not sure I believe that theory. But I definitely don't rule it out, either.

I've read many books which talk about this sub. I think it's great that they finally found it. I wonder if the USN is going to raise it...

it's similar to that article that i read on MAXIM.. ahem...

about a german sub found on the east coast , they took out 2-3 ships before they got hit.... they had plans to attack the ships in new york. all this was top secret until recently.

If, early on a Sunday, you have your men manning the guns prepared for a sub, you're ready. If you didn't have your men ready and they *noticed* a sub and destroyed it, wouldn't it behoove them to remain on the lookout!? Hell I would have.
