I'm considering buying a monitor with the 1920x1080 resolution. As this is a somewhat new resolution in PC equipment, I'm interested in knowing if I might run into games that don't support the resolution.
I should say that I often play 4 or 5 year old games.
this hasn't been an issue for many years. most games from 2005 and newer will have 1920x1080 right there in options. the few that don't can be easily changed in the config. for older games http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/ is your best source for solutions.
As a last resort, both nVidia and AMD drivers offer scaling options, so you can still play at more "square" resolutions with black bars either side, so games are not stretched.
