Ok I had my new 25.5 inch Asus monitor die, its 19 x 12 panel. But I see that I can get the Asus 27 for $40 more but its a 1920x1080. I read that theres a driver issue with some radeon cards that it doesnt fill the whole screen kinda like letterboxing look to it. Is this correct?? I just got a 5870 and dont know if I will even be able to tell the difference in the 2 panels gaming? But the not using the whole screen thing seemed odd.

Yes, that's an HDMI issue with some monitors.
AFAIK that's because the default UnderScan/OverScan value is wrong.
Either connect it to DVI or change the value in CCC.

Thanks for the heads up on the HDMI thing. I wasnt aware of it since I upgraded to an ATI card. Guess I will just do the straight exchange if its going to be a noticeable change from 19/12 to 19/10. Just curious is ATI going to fix it anytime soon? The Asus 27 doesnt have DVI only hdmi. Well poo :(

Yeah thats an option too. I am not super anal on video quality ie I just dont see some of the things others do :) Is it noticable coming from a 19x12 to 19x10?? for gaming?? I came from a 1680x1050 before and that was a big change to me at least.
