Coming up as $129.99 for me. I'm looking for deals on ~128MB CF cards. Are there are out there right now?

<< Why not just get 2 of these. (Oh yeah, + the anandtech reader discount) >>

i'm not seeing any benefit to getting those cards...

same price, no usb, 2 cards. plus, you can get the lexar in store, which makes returns easier if you ever need to return it.

I'm gonna hop on this.
If you have any of the more recent 3, 4, 5 or 6 MegaPixel cameras...this deal rocks.
The reason??? 12X speed! You'll need it!

If you click on the 12x link above, you'll be taken right to the $79 price.
$129 -$50 = $79.

Even if you own one of the cameras with the lesser MegaPixel capabilities, you should get this, as it will move to the higher resolution cameras with ease.

yea, i'll probably get this one too. read/write speeds about the same as the microdrive, cost is about the same, and it doesn't drain power.

How good is Lexar in regard to battery drain? I can't remember who Lexar CF is related to as far as rebadging goes.

What does USB enabled mean? Does it include something to hook up the flash card to your computer?

Picked one up today for $79 in West Windsor, NJ. It is 12X and they only had a few. Will work great with my 4800 Kodak. They do not come with the USB Jump cable, but I have one from an old ANANDTECH deal in 64MB 4X size. This one is noticably faster than the 4x in my camera. It's also superfast in a PCMCIA reader in my VAIO Laptop.

BUMP for a good deal :)

You'll need the Jump Shot USB Cable for your Card.

Don't think so. If your camera (MP3 player, or ???) has a USB connection, you can transfer directly to/from your PC by just plugging in a USB cable. That, however, can drain batteries. Which is why many folks buy a separate "media card" reader. These readers handle virtually any brand of flash memory; and a few good deals have been posted at AT for readers which can handle several flash formats (CF, SmartMedia, Memory Sticks, etc.).

$19.95 for a JumpShot cable is a bad investment (IMHO) because: 1) It only reads USB-Enabled CF cards, which (I believe) are only made by Lexar -- i.e., JumpShot readers will NOT read CF cards from other MFGs.; and, 2) It only reads CF cards (more versatile readers are available for, perhaps, just a little more $$$).

(Lexar used to include a JumpShot cable w/ many of it's CF cards. The one mentioned here, however, seems not to include the JumpShot.)

i don't know how did you make this conclusion. From this reviewDpreviews.com , this card(even 16x) is slower in both reading and writing speed than Kingston 256m, which only cost $90.

can you PM this somewhere with Amex Blue??(if you're lazy, don't wanna go into the store, and want it for 79.99 straight....) Will the instant rebate invalidate the PM??

according to these Compact Flash reviews
The Lexar 12x (256 version) blows away the Kingston 256 on tests on the Nikon D1 and the Kodak DCS.
However on the Canon EOS D30 test the Kingston wins.

edit: (this is in regards to questions posted by mr. kindest, thanks again to mr. gopunk for providing good info in my absence).
wait a minute though, three things:
1. will have to wait on that kingston (ordered online), i am using this card RIGHT now to record a family event.
2. the rebate is going to new rochelle new york... i found out last week (after finally getting through) that the reason for my delay on my epson 880 rebate FROM JUNE was because they left out the suite number and the company i work for. i complained, and it's here in two/three days? why the wait, and no response to my emails? plus they tried to stiff me on my rebate for my samsung drive--saying the copy of the reciept wasn't sent?! i stapled and copied, etc. all the forms together. i had to fax them--at additional cost--the reciept AGAIN--waiting now for my rebate. i have had quite enough of wheresmydoggonerebate, thank you, drive through!
3. i guess two 96mb cards might be better, one fails, the other is backup... but i've been lurking in the digiphoto forums and people say that the contacts wear out, dust gets in the cards and so on. this 192 is going to stay in the camera for the immediate future hopefully :)
people can do or say whatever they want, but i feel this is the best deal for me... just trying to point out something for those who might be interested--notice the thread has no mention of "hot!" or "smoking!"
apologize for misspelling previously
