So I'm getting old and maybe brain dead.

I'm trying to use a Linksys ea4500 as an access point, but for the life of me I can't pull up the settings using 192.168.1.1

I had it connected to a PC without internet access using an Ethernet cable.

Thinking my other router, a Sonic Wall was to blame even though that's not on 192.168.1.1 I unplugged it and hooked the modem up to the Linksys. Sure enough I could pull up the settings screen, but now I'm not able to enter the default password of admin.

Any ideas?

Who is connected to where?
You have (1) modem, (2) SonicWall, (3) Linksys, and (4) PC?
Your "normal setup" is ISP---[*dsl|modem|lan]---[wan|SonicWall|lan]---PC ?

On what subnet are the lan-port of SonicWall and the PC?
You say "not on 192.168.1.1". Does that mean "not on 192.168.1.0/24"?
Does the PC use DHCP to get IP address (from SonicWall)?

What I would do, is to factory reset the Linksys and then plug the PC into lan-port of the Linksys.
Nothing else connected to the Linksys. The PC should get IP with DHCP from the Linksys.
After reset the Linksys should have all the defaults (whatever they are).

Has the browser on the PC stored a password for 192.168.1.1? Clear that.

Close there's actually a (2A) Access Point for wireless which is all on the 1st floor. (3) (4) (5)2nd PC are all on the 2nd floor. It's a bloody mess.

I was just trying to access the Linksys to put it into Bridge Mode, but I'm having trouble with that.

SonicWall is at 10.10.10.1 - SonicWall doles out the DHCP.

I tried resetting the Linksys with nothing hooked up to it.

PC is a fresh Win10 install so nothing stored for passwords, but I'll try clearing it anyway. I actually thought Dashlane was causing password issues so I disabled that.

Thanks for the help!

I think I'm just going to buy a switch tomorrow. I just need temp Internet access for (5)2nd PC untill I get the whole house wired with CAT6.

An online Linksys manual does not mention 192.168.1.1, but it does mention www.linksyssmartwifi.com

Apparently the Linksys, if nothing is connected to its WAN-port, resolves that name to its LAN-side private IP-address (whatever it happens to be).

If you're using the Linksys ea4500 as an access point, it likely won't have the 192.168.1.1 IP address. The access point is extending an already existing network.

I was trying to avoid creating another account as there are instructions for doing this 'manually' and even on the log-in page it says how to use it offline. Alas though it's not working so I'm gonna try making account before I remove the last of my hair.

As it stands I'm using it as a paper weight. I'm trying to access it's settings to make it an access point. So default settings are 192.168.1.1
