I have tried the 6600GT at 800x600 low settings and at those settings even the 1900xtx is fine without the sound card atleast. I will try your formatting solution soon. But before that I will post those videos to show you what those problems are(not stuttering).

how much memory do you have in your computer? maybe 1 stick of 64meg PC100??

why oh why did you bring this thread back to life.....

the stupity will continue.......
It's his Christmas present to Video.

no, his present to us would be to buy an XBOX360 or a Wii and leave us alone.

Dude, I am not even talking of Rainbow Six Vegas, I am talking of other games and primarily image tearing. Rainbow Six Vegas gives me about 20FPS at 10x7 low settings and everything off.

From their benchmarks, it proves that my card with a faster CPU could manage 1600x1200 with max settings without AA, AF hardly counts. So even with my CPU I should get a little less performance but atleast 10x7 or 12x10 playable FPS, which I don't.

LOL! This has nothing to do with this thread but took a look at those Vegas benchmarks, the results are a joke. I cant believe how low the frame rates are with all but the 8800GTX, ****** unbelievable.

I think I figured out what is wrong with Akshayt...it's not his PC that lags but rather his brain....it can't keep up with all the infomation being recieved through his eyes.....it's like having a high end graphics card with a really low end CPU....bottleneck central.

Yeah, I found it pretty surprising that mid-high range cards like the X1950XT and the 7900GT can barely pump <30ish at 1280x960, highest settings of course (but no FSAA).

If all Unreal 3 games are going to be so GPU intensive, I'd better start saving up for a new rig soon.

QFT. Even with an 8800GTX @ 1600x1200 we have less than 50 frames (46.6).

Not to mention how I've heard you can't use AA or AF, I don't see why that game is enticing for the PC.

AT clearly states that 20+ in their benchies means overall relatively smooth play, probably during fights.

one thing...have you tried installing AMD's cpu driver for the A64 cpu's (not the dual core optimiser).

I just tried it out after reading another thread and found a tiny increase in performance (about 100 3dmarks in 2003 and about 50 in 2005), as well as some minor stuttering that I had in NFS:MW and NFS:C has now dissappeared, and the games run as smooth as possible...I'm not sure of the frame rate..but it's damn smooth now.

AMD Athlon? 64/FX Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (x86 and x64 exe) 1.3.2.16

I didn't install it yet, I will install it, but what do I do about image tearing. I get the stuttering/lagging not only in games but also in videos, especially anything which we see from an overview.
