Let me elaborate: I overclocked my 3400+ CPU to 3700+ speeds as soon as I got my X1800XT because it was bottlenecking it, how do you think that your X1900XT-X is going to cope when it's got a 3200+ processor driving it? It's like buying a Lamborghini or a Ferrari with a 1.3ltr. Ford Escort engine in it.

Not really. As has been stated earlier in the thread, a 2.0GHz A64 is fast enough to run most games. I don't really see why people think, when you upgrade to a faster card, you have to go to a faster CPU if it ran fine before.

It is you who is at fault, not me.
The arrogance boggles the mind. OP, you have to run the Warcraft drivers!! It's the only thing that works!! :D

Ashkayt, I have a few questions for you. Please do not get insulted as I am trying to find something out.

What is your first language? (English, Other)

The reason I ask this, is, I have noticed people, even a few friends (co-workers) of mine who are from arab countries and they have learned the English language somewhat. They can carry out a conversation, but often the are mistaken for being rude by not properly using English grammar. I have seen them get into a few arguments over this. They have no idea that they actually insult people very often, but not intending to.
Is this what's happening here? Because There are a few of your posts that are outright rude, whether you realize it or not.

Examples: "solve the problem, you are comp experts, do something" The word please is needed in here.

"tell me" Should be "Tell me please" or "Please tell me".

"just tell me whether windows firewall slows down games or not" Remove "just" and insert "please, can you"

"It is you who is at fault, not me." Big time mistake.

You are asking people to help you solve problems, so be respectful to them. Otherwise, you will get nothing from them except flames.

NOW, on the other hand, if English is your first language, you better work on those people skills and soon.

Nope. At even a decent res like 1280x1024, I didn't notice a huge difference in FPS when my 3000+ Venice was OC'ed (2.6GHz) or not with an X1900XT. ;)
Now what my old college friend did (paired a GF2 GTS with a P2-233) - that's a Ferrari with golf-cart wheels.

Yup, played a couple of games at stock speed by mistake (forgot that I had reset the BIOS  ), including NFS:MW, Oblivion, Heroes V and FEAR.
Please don't get me wrong. My benchmarking has certainly shown that there is a definite improvement in FPS when ramping up the CPU speed, but it's not to the point that it is 1fps vs. 100fps :p

HAHAHA, now its OUR FAULT.

Give up, live with it, see that corner over there? Yea just go sit in that and have a good think. If the thought to post some more comes into your mind, hit yourself. Keep doing that and itll all be fine

agreed. just dont use ati anymore, its not for you =]

who cares if his first language isn't english, he knows enough to say its our fault and he knows enough to say the x1900xtx is crap. so go back to your corner =]

You stated that you have a mobo with no new driver releases available. This is your problem. Get a new mobo with drivers that will support 1900xtx correctly. Also OCing you cpu will help but I would go an get a dual core x2 3800 while you are at it. Your system is the problem not 1900xtx.

or just get a new mobo.Like the ASUS A8N32-SLI.Put ur winnie in there.OC it to 2.6ghz.Install and power up ur PC properly.
Ensure all drivers are latest. Then get back to us..
Cause ur whining is really getting annoying not to mention ur lack of respect for those trying to help ya.
Or better why don't u save some money.Get an AM2 cpu,like the x2 3800+ or x2 5000+.then get a good AM2 motherboard.
That would boost performance by quite some bit.And believe me dual core does wonders for todays games.
If u don't have money try the first part.

@OP
I'm TRYING to help you. Do you even want my HELP?

Now, when you said "it's you who is at fault" (or something like that) that was a big time mistake. This is the video forums, after a while you learn that the video forums are a fvck'n warzone.

I think that one of the posters might be right, the X1900XTX MAY BE smarter than you.

Now since you have tried almost everything (and everything is as normal as it should, besides VIDEO performance), I SUGGEST that you try the XTreme-G Warcat drivers. It's practcally the only thing you havn't tried, AND it's pretty dam easy. Just make sure that you follow the instructions in the PM that I sent you yesterday.

So why keep putting it off?

Oh, and you should change you title to "Poor Performance with X1900XTX" and make the subtitle "Please Help Me, Lots of Stuttering"

Listen guys.... after 10 pages and a vast array of suggestions, including buy a dell, overclock, cry, its obvious he cant be helped. I think the best and most factual post in this thread was the guy who said "PICNIC" Hes either having a laugh, or theres no real serious problem.

If there is a problem, heres the solution to it: BUY AN XBOX

Sorted :D

Exactly, time to give up on this fool. Keys just asked him a question and he's ignored his post. People tell him it's not his hard dive yet he keeps asking about his HD Tach scores. Either he's trolling or just can't be helped.

SELL YOUR DAMN CARD and go back to your 6600GT!!!

OP: you need to OC your 3200+ to *atleast* 4.862 GHz to run FEAR and NFS:MW at 800x600 on a X1900XTX. For 1280x1024, you need a minimum OC of atleast 12.953 GHz.

So your problem is that you have not OCed enough.

Really? I think not, because I was able to build this system without trolling a messageboard and insulting others.

No, YOU are at fault, for the following reasons:

1. You have been given a chance by keysplayr2003 to explain why people might be misunderstanding you. You ignored it.

2. You do not read reasonable replies, you ignore them.

3. You appear to have the brain of a turd.

Number 3 is quite tricky and is largely responsible for us "being at fault".

You have deserved every bit of flaming dished out to you.

Now go away and order a Dell.

I don't see anyone mentioning this but maybe he has ultra sensitive eyes:
800*600 equivalent of low
Frames: 4650 - Time: 62349ms - Avg: 74.580 - Min: 41 - Max: 118
plenty of stuttering still
If he can see stuttering with a min FPS of 41, then the problem could just be his ultra sensitive eyes.

I CAN'T BUY A NEW CPU OR MOTHERBOARD.

I am using 17" crt

You guys are incompetent, FEAR running crap at 800*600 proves that cpu is not the thing here, also FEAR isn't cpu dependant, I challenge you to shows benchies which state the opposite.
