I just upgraded my computer for the first time in 5 years. I was running a Barton 3200+ with 1 gig of ram and a bfg 5600 ultra.
I now have a q6600 with 4 gigs of ram. You could say I am exponentiating my performance... and I love it.

Here is my question how will the 1900xt handel ut3 and crysis. My monitor only supports a resolution of 1280x1024, and its hard to find reviews and benchmarks of a new game at that resolution with this older card.
Is there a better card out there (for the money of course)? I would like to play crysis at medium settings and ut3 at maxium settings. Can I do that with this card at a lower resolution?

Any help much appreciated!

For such resolution, that card should do the trick. However, I believe the HD3850 would do the trick as well for that resolution, but for cheaper I believe. I think if you could get the X1900XT for cheaper than a HD3850, then go for it, but if the 3850's a bit more expensive (like $5-10 more), then I'd just go with the 3850 just for its virtue of being a power sipper compared to the X1900XT.

Get the 3850- a comparison with the X1950XTX is in Anand's review here where the 3850 is much better than the 1950 in all games including those you mentioned.
