1900+ Rating the End of the Line for the XP?

Microsoft seems to think so. At least this is what I found out. Since this chip is so new (as is the Operating System) it could be just a fluke like Win95 identifying a Cyrix 6x86 as a 80486 in the system properties sheet. :Q

I have a fully unlocked XP 1800+

At 12x133 I get this in the system properties:

AMD Athlon XP 1800+ running at 12x133

At 13x133 I get this:

AMD Athlon XP 1800+ running at 13x133 (BIOS setting is 133x13, actual multiplier is 12.5)

I thought I would see 2000+ but didn't. :Q

This is with a AGKGA on a KG7 RAID mobo.

Cheers!

yep that's what i was thinking.🙂

Abit cant select corect multipliers. 🙁

Maybe the L1 bridges might have to be redone??????

The bridges have been tested with a Hewlett Packard 4338A Milliohmeter and verified good! 🙂

I did get it to run on a KT133A (rev. 1.2) at 13x133 (1733 shown) but that mobo doesn't like the XP even at default and Abitch says no support for pre rev. 1.3 KT7A's. :|

Cheers!

I'm actually satisfied with them. I've tried Iwill, MSI and Asus and while they *worked* I prefer the flexibility of the Abitch! 🙂 Nothing like having abitch of your own! 😉

Cheers!

Just because the software doesn't know what to do with it doesn't mean it is the end of the line. AMD hasn't told Microsoft what to put in for those values yet, so it doesn't know what to do with the overclocked processor. Once new values are provided for higher clock speeds the problem should be resolved with a software fix of some kind. This is a problem with the PR rating though because it is not reporting true clock speed.
