Some of you may remember my posts from yesterday. Turns out i got through with the oil change, flushed the radiator filled it with coolant. After 20 minutes of idling/driving the thing busted again, water in the oil and the oil is all over the place. so not only does it need a new head gasket, but it has a bad cooling system. Its not worth the time/money to put back into this 96 grand am. However, I need a car to get to and from both school and work. Whats my best option? whats looking best for me is just taking a loan out from the bank and buying a $5-6,000 car...

Yeah just get a loan and do it. Go through your bank or the dealership...whatever gets you the lowest interest rate. If you do not have much credit history on file you may need a co-signer for your loan. If your parents are comfortable with that they are your best bet.

I would look at Honda/Toyota/Nissan - these will be reliable cars and you could probably find an Accord or Civic easily for 5-6K. Ask if the dealership will do a Car-Fax on it for you, if they won't it's worth the money to get the unlimited subscription if you are going to be shopping around a lot.

Also...check your local paper, etc. for private users selling their cars. You can usually get good deals and if you meet the person a lot of times you can tell if they treat their cars well, etc. But again, run a carfax on everything.

You could whore yourself out to 1000 fat chicks for 50 bucks a piece. Or 50 really fat chicks for 1000 bucks a piece. Fat chicks need love too-- but they have to pay.
