CALL A STORE ABOUT A HOT DEAL!

While it's unlikely that places have these in stock, calling about a deal will quite possibly alert them to the hotness of the deal and either fix the mistake (if it was a case where there is a mistake) or give them an opportunity claim the hot item for themselves. You must have been sleeping during Hot Deals forum 101. :p

You're lucky you're here. On FW they have special task forces reserved for those who call the stores. :p:)

that's just crazy, so you can never call a store and ask if they have an item in stock ? i call my local store all the time to check for see if they have items in stock, saves me a trip if they don't have them in stock.

nah, foolish, he's right.
its not for all deals, just the special ones, the unadvertised ones, or the ones where you kinda have to work the system

imagine if you call the store and say "do you have any of these in stock?"
the guy types in the # to his computer, and he sees the LOW price and rebates... but there's only one left...
"nope, sorry we're out" says the salesman.
and he goes home with a new monitor.

This is your typical OD clearance. Very hard to find once they get down to this level. You'll have to go to the store and hope you get lucky or pick up a demo item.

This is why it shows as discontinued online. You can have a very rough idea of inventory at your local store if you use the in-store pickup feature. If it doesn't show in stock at a store, go back to the cart, select delivery, then select in store pick up again. This allows you to pick another store. Eventually, if you're lucky, you'll hit one that SUPPOSEDLY has it in stock. However, this doesn't mean it's actually there, this is where you cross your fingers and go there and see if it's actually in stock. Yes, I've struck out many times doing it this way but it's better than driving around to different stores blindly. And yes, I've gotten lucky and got a few clearance items this way too so YMMV.

Btw, last week I found two stores that had this for in-store pickup but it turned out they didn't have it in stock so I gave up. I'm in Southern California.
