Hi:

My beloved SONY 21" CRT died and I need to buy a new monitor.

I narrowed it down to a 19" LCD non-widescreen, that would give me pretty much the same viewing size as my 21" CRT.

I do mostly web/graphic design including editing photos from my DSLR and very rarely play a FPS game...I have a 14 mo. old that happily takes up most of my time. :)

I narrowed it down to 2 monitors:

- Acer B193bdmh - $190
- HP LP1965 - $290

What do you think? Also...feel free to suggest some other monitor if it is in the same price range as above and is NOT widescreen.

Thanks!

Mitch

I own the HP LP1965 which I bought in Ebay for $175 with shipping included, brand new in box, and I'm very happy with it, it uses a P-MVA panel which is has the best contrast/ratio and the deepest blacks of all the LCD panels. It's colors are rich, no banding, (Unlike the TN based monitors like the Acer you posted) nice 178" angle, supports HDCP, for photos and graphic design, the HP is the best of two, of course you can get an IPS based LCD monitor which has the best color setup of all, but they're much more expensive, read the LCD Thread and find the answer that you are looking for.
