19" LCD 399.99 AR

Tiger Direct has this "Famous Brand" 19" LCD monitor for $399.99 after $80.00 rebate. From the picture it looks like the SCEPTRE X9g-KomodoIV that Newegg sells for $479. The reviews on Newegg are pretty good. Is this a hot deal? I'm still leary of Tiger Direct since they screwed me on a rebate a couple of years ago.

I know Sceptre use to make monitors for Compaq and other major PC manufacturers about 10 years ago before they started selling under their own name here in the US. I think this has to be a Sceptre X9g-KomodoIV, the pictures are identical except for the Sceptre name.

Note: Just found them mentioned on one of the bargain sites and they say the Famous Brand and Sceptre X9g-KomodoIV are one in the same. Also, the lcd panel is made in Japan by Fujitsu.

I'd say it's the Sceptre X9g-KomodoIV. When doing a search for reviews I found a link for the KodomoIV at Tiger.

Ditto! 'First looked at the TEAC link which -has- DVI; presumed this model did as well -- for about five overly happy minutes.

Still, it's a great deal for those needing a more prosaic monitor like us baby-boomers who just need larger screens as we age!
