Sure it's not something you would want to take on a trip and have to carry all day, but it offers convenient room to room portability.

The only nice feature about such laptops is that you don't have to use cable locks with these things any person trying to steel t will get a hernia at the moment of lift :D .

Why not just put an LCD screen on the side of a computer tower and... oh yeah, Monorail tried it years ago and went out of business.

Even better set up two Dell 20" LCDs that fold in the middle and have a hinge , seriously what are you waiting for, why not just save even more money and get an IBM 22 " CRT and just glue the laptop to it's side !!!!

Like was said - the main purpose of a notebook is mobility and travel - carrying a moose like that can get tiresome. I just got rid os a 17 in laptop screen and went back to a 14 just because of the weight.

They've already made a 20" notebook. It's called a 20" iMac with a keyboard and mouse! :p

Seriously, 17" is the practical threshhold for a laptop, and even then most Windows-based 17" laptops are way too heavy and thick to be portable. The 17" PowerBook is the only one I'd want to take with me.

I think was most people don't consider with this is that the chassis design for a 19" screen will make it extraordinarily uncomfortable to type on or constantly use this machine. So why not hook up a keyboard? While you're at it, a mouse? Oh, 'cuz then you're better of getting a desktop

And who wants to guess the weight? 10lbs IF THEY'RE LUCKY

19" "laptops" aren't practical and won't be in the foreseeable future.

There was an advantage to a reuseable Laptop Screen is it might be possible to buy a newer model and use it with the old screen. This is the concept they are trying to sell. Normal laptop screens go bad and they are hard to replace. Just depends how you use your laptop. Portability may be more important, or gaming may be more important. For something like watching DVD's on a larger screen, a 19 inch LCD may be important. A portable projection unit might make a nice gaming device too.

And, it may not even be possible to even fully open a 19-in laptop screen on the seat back tray of an airplane. But - to eah his or her own. :)

For most people that'd be less practical than just getting a Mac Mini and carrying it around in a backpack.
