**THE PRICES ARE ALL IN CANADIAN!!

Originally, I was looking for a 19 inch LCD with DVI-D for under $600, but it is hard to find a decent on for that price. I game a little so response time is somewhat important - although I do know that posted response times mean little and the games I play are usually not FPS. I watch a lot of movies and do a lot of surfing/text on my computer.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome (even if they seem meaningless)!!~
Any suggestions as to where to find these products cheaper are even more welcome!!~
Thanks in advance.

I'd go with the Benq. There's a computer store here in Calgary that has the 937s for $569 after rebate.

Ouchy .... I feel bad for you Canadian fellas when it comes to buying hardware. I'm also interested in seeing whether I can tell the difference between a 25ms response LCD and a 12 sec one. I have read enough to know that the vid card will not get too far over 45fps without some response time blurring showing up on the 25ms unit, and with a 6800 card in the very near future, I might be better served to wait for a sub 16ms unit. Anand reviewed 19" LCDs recently and the Nu Tech 19" performed well and can be had for around $400, altho its 25ms response time is making me a bit concerned.

I would go with Samsung or the Dell. I will always sacrifice response time over color. I'm not a big fan of 6-bit panel.

That's the downside of living in Canada or anywhere else in the world besides the US for that matter. It's generally accepted fact that people outside of US pay more for the same hardware than people living in the States.

just ordered a 1905fp for £340.00.

dell is a bit cheeky, it only gives that price as a popup, if you order from the website the price magically becomes £346.91, so i did it by phone and quoted the lower price i had seen online.

When you consider the exchange rate, it's about the same.

Might be now with our U.S. dollar so low against other currencies. But still you can get that Dell 1905FP shipped in the US for around $432 or so with Dellf coupons and such compared to around $536 US you would have to pay in Canada with the current exchange rate.

Before I get flamed I know what Im about to say wasn't in his list but it should be in the price range.

How about the Viewsonic VX910? it is 19" with DVI and has 16ms response.

VX910? Hmm... I will also look into that one. I have also heard a lot about the VP912b from Viewsonic, however I think that is out of my pricerange ~Samsung 193P area. Thanks, but I would like the list to get smaller instead of larger. I just wish I had all 3 panels in front of me to test a few things before I bought one.

I just want to ask this question again. Does anyone know if there is a way to use Dellf coupons to lower the price of the 1905FP in Canada?

If nobody here can answer that in abit you might try asking in OT or Hotdeals (Hotdeals may have some sort of rule against that though, I am not sure).

No you cannot use the delf coupons in canada.

I however may be able to help you out. YHPM.

BTW the 1905FP is said to use the same panel as the 193p making it the best choice for the money.

Last call for this thread, I'm going to buy a monitor soon. Please give me your inputs. Please, please, please. Thank!

You should probably go for the Dell.

The only 19" 20ms LCD's I've found are:
Dell 1905fp
Samsung 193p
HP L1925 and F1903

So I assume they are all using the same panel.

Future Shop has the BenQ937S on special for $599 ($50 mail-in and $50 in store) while Dell Canada has the 1905 on special for $584.

I believe (but I am not sure) Dell has 8 bit color vs. 6 for the BenQ, but the BenQ has the lower response time.
