19 inch hitachi's: are they good?

what do u guys think about the two 19" hitachi monitors?
i am thinking about getting the 771 with the ergoflat screen.
if any one can point me in the direction of another monitor, 19" or bigger that is better, and the same price(450) tell me

A guy I worked with used a Hitachi Superscan 751, never had anything but good things to say about it. Not a flat screen, but beautiful color, I think 1600x1200@85 max. Unfortunately I missed getting it when the company went out of business

The Hitachi 771 is a good shadow mask. The Ergoflat is a good tube. If you are only looking for shadow mask monitors, then the Samsung 900IFT is another good one. The 900IFT is around $410 from Onvia and quite similar to the 771 in terms of picture quality and max resolution/refresh rate though the 900IFT may have a slight edge on max res. I think you would be satisfied with either one.
