Guys what 19 incher do yall recomend? I was looking at the 955df and 900nf. I heard that KDS had one comparable to the 955df that could do a bit higher refresh rate. Anybody have anyrecomendation and maybe a hot deal for one? I really dont want to spend much over 200.

PS if this is better placed in a different forum just let me know

Am happy with the 900NF Iibought. I bet I will be more happy when I get a decent GPU to go with it. It comes with a nice software package that realy helps to get it adjusted corectly, and the menu covers every controll you think of. The picture is sharp and coulours are good, but not spectacular. With white background I can see the lines due to the Aperture Grill (AG), but it doesnt bother me. Refresh rates are great. Looks good at 12x16 but again with this GPU I cant get the max refresh at that resolution.

The cable is detachable which is a major plus, after having a monitor cable short out on me a while back. And it has USB ports that I will never use.

another drawback is there is at 1280x1024, I have a slight black border around the viewing area. Kinda dissapointing, but not bothersome.

I wasnt impressed with the 955DF i saw at best buy, but it coulda been the crappy demo they were running.

for $300 from dell, I doubt you could go wrong.

THG just did a review on some CRT monitors that I havent heard of. you might want to check out their reviews. monitor reviews are hard to find, and looking at em in a store with an unknown video card, and dubious software doesnt always give you a good idea.

For primary gaming, I have read many people who realy like their 955DF. I do alot of 2d too, so im more picky.

What traveler said.

If you're lookin to save some deskspace, get a SyncMaster 900SL 19". It's ALMOST a flat-screen, but it's a short-tube. Weighs 35 pounds, about that of an average 17" and about the size of one. It can do 1280 x 1024 at 85Hz.

Im not really concerned w/ size. Does anybody have the kds im reffering to? Do most ppl think its worth it to just get the 900nf or a trinitron probably about 70 - 80 buck more

I am a fan of the 19" Mitsubishi Diamondtrons....though once I bought my LCD I don't think I will ever go back to a standard tube 🙂

The 900nf is a very fine monitor and I don't think you would be dissatisfied with getting one over a trinitron.
I did hear that they are phasing this model out though so I would pick up one soon cause the replacements do not seem to be of the same calibur.

NEC FE950+'s are pretty nice too! Use the same tube as the 900nf. And if you want, it comes in black also 😎

Anything but a Shadowmask monitor is nice. How much are you looking to spend? I would highly reccomend a monitor which uses a Trinitron or Diamondtron tube. You can easily get them for below 300 dollars. Look around the hot deals side. It's worth the extra 100 you fork out dude. Trust me. I've gone from 2 955DF to a 19 inch Trinitron and could not be happier. 🙂
