I placed my order for the card last week and recieved it in 4 days. No problems at all. Love the card too.. Took less than 15 minutes to get it up and running. Go to Hauppauge's website to tget the drivers and app.

Good price, but not the best card (I believe it does software encoding NOT hardware). Caused me many CPU crashes. Hauppauge PVR 250/150, though a little more $, well worth it. Also, you can sometimes find the WinTV-GO on sale at CompUSA for $20 AR.

i've heard of softwareandstuff.com and havent heard of any complaints yet. ppl do get their stuff, + w/ free shipping (probably no tax), $19 beats $20AR anyday.

those who have bought this card from them - have you gotten it yet? I ordered mine on like 22nd and still have not received it. got a "tracking number" but it appears the item has not been actually sent yet. they were fast to charge the credit card though.

I can't tell if this uses 8 or 10 bit DACs. If 10, then it should be equivalent. I saw a HUGE leap in picture quality when moving from an 8-bit to 10-bit card.

But this card has only mono audio. You may think it's no big deal, but it's really really annoying.

Can't vouch for the quality of the card, but for anyone who's hesitant about Softwareandstuff/Surplus Computers, fear not. I get lots of cool crap from them all the time, and have never had a problem once with them. Of course, you should know beforehand from browsing their selection that you're usually getting offbrand or unboxed surplus stuff (and sometimes refurbs but these are clearly marked so in the listings). And I'm always amused by what exterior box they recycle to ship my order (one time it was a Smuckers UnCrustables case :D)...

Still, I can't beat my no-name 18v drill for $15. Perfect for light/moderate duty. Or my cheap Seagate SCA SCSI pulls, perfect for my Sun boxes. Or my two MS Sidewinder USB gamepads, in sealed retail box. Hard to find and exactly what I needed... the list goes on.

Know what you're in for and you'll have a fun time with them. They're no Newegg but they do have some cool crap. Same applied to Computer Geeks too (http://www.compgeeks.com/).

got mine in the mail yesterday. its about time. not impressed with their service. also sent them an email regarding shipping and they never replied.

installed the card - very easy, make sure yo download the proper driver for the right chipset on your card (don't just look at the name, check the number).

works great. now i just need to pull up a cable through the wall into my room

Does anyone have a good list of which models work with what software or the quality of the capture. Perhaps what models have 10 bit vs 8 bit. I've been looking around and its all just a blur now. BTW the wintv go plus is at circuit city for $30 after rebate. Ends today.
Thanks

i dont know if this is the answer you wanted.

WinTV-GO and GO-PLUS models are all mono boards not stereo, they capture at a maximum quality rate of 640 x 480 resolution, but do all software encoding of mpeg. the boards can also capture in divx.

It can only capture in mpeg 1 format at the 320 x 240 resolution, same for divx.

by the way WinTV-GO plus has a remote control which the wintv-go does not.
