19" CRT monitors (namely, the FE991SB)

Earlier this month, I decided on here to get the FE991SB which is coming up soon (i'm waiting for my Federal return 😉) but someone told me that they gave it poor marks with text quality on ZDnet. Now, granted, it is only one place but is this true? I do a lot of reading on here as well as gaming...if this monitor is going to give me poor text quality then I'm going to have to start looking for something else.

Speaking of which, how are Viewsonic's 19" Flat-Screen CRTs? I'd imagine SOMEONE has at least the P95f+ on here 🙂. I heard of the Samsung 957MB, is that one good? I'm willing to go up to $310 for a decent monitor...and since i'm talking about 19" CRTs (NOT Sony ones, sorry they are just too expensive for my budget), that shouldn't be too hard to find.

How about the XF-9E from KDS? I heard someone on here say it was a good monitor. I'm simply wearied by reviews of this FE991SB, and if anyone has a good enough reason to put those fears to rest, I would welcome the reasons 😀.

Oh okay thanks. I realize it is only one site, and I don't usually get worried about that...but, people on newegg were saying it wasn't fuzzy if you don't have the superbright to the max. Others said it was fine after tinkering with the settings.

I really didn't have to adjust anything to get text to display correctly. And I really only use superbright while playing games, there it makes quite a difference.

I just bought a ? ?lowly?? Viewsonic E70f (.21/.25 dot pitch). The text and 2D display quality (with my Sapphire ATI 7500) are the best I?ve seen on any monitor, although my 7500 is really good in this respect. The color saturation (graphics) I would also rate as excellent. Amazing for the ?budget? price.

A P95f+ should look great.
