19" CRT (FE991SB) to 17" LCD?

I'm running at 1200x900 on my CRT... would you guys consider it a downgrade in terms of screen real estate? Or would a 19" be a better choice?

From what I've gathered, 17" is still the best for 1280x1024, but I wish there's a widescreen 17" or 19" 🙁

19" and 17" run the same resolution, if your using it for gaming get one w/ 16ms or less. i havn't heard of any 17 or 19" widescreens besides http://www.newegg.com/app/View...tion=24-007-036&depa=0 which doesnt look to be great for gaming and is the price of a 19" which i would go with instead if it were up to me. what are you going to use it for? in my opinion you can't go wrong with a good name brand LCD

Thanks for the reply..

I will definitely use it for some gaming, but since this will be my primary workstation as well, I'll will also use it heavily for browsing, coding, occasional graphics work (mostly web-based) and throw in a few DVD movies/TV shows as well.. just about anything 😀

I'm now looking for a good 8-bit, <16ms 17" panel.. does this even exist at all? Right now the Viewsonic VP171B-2 looks like the best bet, except that it isn't true 16.7mil ?

Has anyone gone from 19" CRT to 17" LCD? Care to give some opinion?

19" is just bigger a good 19" is should have the same picture as the 17" just be easier on your eyes
edit: and more expensive but i think its worth the difference
