19" 1650x1080 bad?

I want to prevent my space from being taken up, since I am going to have a second 17"(or 19") monitor there for movies. Will there be any problems by having the monitor smaller than the normal 21 inches (ie. jaggies are more apparent, squashed image, etc.)? It has a response time of 2ms and is right in my price range.

Link to the monitor.

19" 1650x1080 is not bad.

It's just small.

The height of 19" monitor is about the same (or smaller) than 17" LCD with "regular" aspect ratio.

Adding 1680x1050 to the equation makes everything on the screen look small.

Get the 22" WS 1680x1050 - the height of the panel is same as the regular 19" (almost same...).

It should actually reduce jaggies, and the image won't look squashed, it will just look very very small. Make sure you've got good eyes?

I've been considering this monitor, too--I'm also thinking about the AL2216Wbd, and the 906bw. Which one is best?

That doesn't sound too bad. Some laptops have 17" screens that squeeze a 1900x1200 resolution onto them. My friend has an XPS with this kind of screen and I can hardly use it; I almost need a magnifying glass to read small text.

DFT - you'll need to have good eyes for that monitor - otherwise things will look nice and sharp.

Why don't you just get one 22" for movies and applications? Are you watching movies while using the other monitor?

I have a lower res monitor about the same size that I will watch movies and use applications on.

i have a 20" 16x10 Samsung 205BW ... i like it better than comparable 22" screens
... of course, i use it for everything 😛

1680x1050 is way too high res for 19". My laptop has that resolution on 15.4, but you sit close to a laptop. The comparisons are meaningless.
