19'' 12ms LCDs all using same panel??

i'd like to find out if this is a fact, and if manufacturers actually lie about colors, ie. Viewsonic claims that 912b is 6+2 bits.

trhere are only 3 major manufacturers of LCDs in the world (NEC, LG, and Sony - I belive), and all monitor manufactures buy their screens from them. It is possible that those 3 may all be the exact same screen in differnt bezels.

even though the above post is wrong about the major panel manufacturers, it is very likely they are all using the same panel.

Sony does not usually even make the panels in their LCDs
Many of the largest panel manufacturers are in China and their names would be unfamilair to most people.
Samsung should be on that list.
