18A on 12v rail?

I have a turbolink (generic) 420watt psu and on the side it says 18A for the 12v rail
is that even possible if so im definately getting a new psu for gb and 1.8c1

I have a new Enermax 350W Whisper PSU and the +12A rail is only 17V, so I think you should be fine.

I hope your right but i was readin that 25A was needed for the p4ms and heck mines not near that

I would really like to know if the person who said you need 25a on the 12v line knows what the heck he is talking about? You don't even need that much power to run a a Promentia system or a Peltier, so why on earth would a CPU (designed to run on a power-efficient notebook, mind you) need that much power? Your power supply will be fine. I wouldn't give it a second thought.

I am guessing they meant 5V rail......

An average 300W will be about this:

+5V = 30A
+12V = 10A
+%V & +3.3V TOTAL OUTPUT = Approx 160W

If a 300W can run a P4.....then there is no reason why your 420W can't....that's a reasonable output for the +12V....is the +5V around 40A?
