1) if the card has a power coupling on it, which many Firewire cards do have, then is that hooked up?

2) have you tried removing the offending Firewire card as a fact-finding step?

3) why aren't you using the Firewire port on your Audigy X-Gamer, out of curiosity?

It does, but I didn't connect it because the manual made it seemed that it was only necessary if many Firewire products were going to be connected to it.

No, not yet, but that was my next step.


3) why aren't you using the Firewire port on your Audigy X-Gamer, out of curiosity?

I plugged the camcorder in it, but it never seemed to recognize the camcorder, I didn't see where I had to do anything special to activate that Firewire port on my sound card, it seemed to be not working.

What software are you using for capture? I use my old Audigy 1 card's firewire port with Adobe Premier and I can capture video fine.
