Cool...I'm not surprised that BB has it wrong...as they so often do.

I keep hearing about "problems" with Sandforce controllers...I don't really know WTF that even is...:p but...??

The only real problem was in the OCZ vertex/agility III. OCZ has gotten a lot of flack for it but a lot of it had to do with the natural growing pains of implementing a new controller (I believe the vertex/agility III was the first OCZ drive to use SF-2200 controller). Anyway, in my experiences, intel has pretty much perfected it (as usual). My work laptop has an intel 330 and my personal laptop that I'm typing on right now has this very same 530 (both use SF-2281) with absolutely zero issues. I think intel really shows how confident they are in their product w/ the 5 yr warranty.

I am going to buy this drive. Hopefully it will fit in a laptop that accepts 7mm height. Great deal. I have experienced the Intel 520 180GB and it is extremely fast.

Thanks for the post.

Update: I just bought it at Best Buy. It appears they have more in stock. Very good buy. Also, if one wants to use it in 7mm form, then shorter screws need to be ordered.

Once again, thanks.

Wish I had this deal when I put my system together in 02/11. $276 shipped for a fast 360 GB RAID 0. I currently have a 64 GB C300, just too hard to justify but it's getting close. It's not the fast loading of screens/maps, it's the simplification of my architecture.

^ If it works, YOU ROCK! Thank you!!

Update...It doesn't work. Only applicable in-store and for regular priced items, this item is on sale and does not apply. Leavin' the store empty handed.

Thanks Op I am in for one.

Also the 120 is on sale for $100.

Fallengod I will try the coupon but I have a feeling that BB will not allow it since it clearly states 10% of regular priced item.

Just returned mine. Underwhelmed by the performance, and went back to my 256GB 830, which is performing better.

It may be YMMV, but others have already used it successfully. I wont be able to try the coupon myself for a few days.

Interesting! Thanks for sharing. What aspect underwelms?

Win7 64-bit bootup/shutdown, Photoshop CS6, Word, all took 1-5 seconds longer to execute. Now, I know that ain't much, but it was noticeable enough that it bugged me. And, over the near month I had it, performance degraded. I had high hopes for this drive, thinking it was a perfect upgrade from the Sammy, not alas, no. YMMV, but keep your receipt if you get it from BB.

lul. One note on that coupon, I got it from someone else and didnt even notice. It actually expired a year ago. Looks like it might still be active though since so many others got it to work. YMMV for sure.

I jumped on this deal because, after reading the reviews here about its controller and NAND and how it outperformed the 830 series in almost all benchmarks, I figured it was a no-brainer. On my system, however, the opposite proved to be the case, so back it went.

Eh? What happened? I just bought one of these so, please elaborate. Arnt these like top tier drives for speed and reliability?

I also bought one after using an Intel 520 180GB for a week. I noticed no slowdowns whatsoever and everything ran very well when I was using it. The boot times were excellent as well. I use an Samsung 830 128GB in my main computer and the Intel 520 feels just as fast in everything. I think the Intel 520 may have faster shut down times but that may have to do with the system, not sure.

Then my question is, which intel SSD is better then... If one degrades and have performance issues, wouldnt that mean they all would.... Which intel is better?

Don't base your worries or purchasing on one anecdotal report of problems.

We had a bunch in my store a week ago and I was wondering why people weren't scooping it up. 130 bucks for the 180GB and 100 bucks for the 120GB.

Good deals imo.
