1800XT -> 1900XT

Thinking about selling my 1800XT and going for a 1900XT. The upgrade will probably cost about $100 after rebates...

So what do you guys think? I basically play Source games, like Counter-Strike:Source. Will I notice a big improvement? Anything I need to be concerned with... like my power supply? It's a 430Watt...

I would wait for the X1950 cards. But if you must...what res do you game at ?

for cs:source, you probably won't notice any difference at all. probably barely. i wouldn't do it, wait for a bigger upgrade.

X1800XT is high end enough. No need for an upgrade.

no upgrade needed. Besides, CSS is very heavily reliant on your CPU.

Stick with your X1800XT and wait/save up for DX10 parts.

If it helps i own the X1800XT and my friend owns the X1900XT. In games like Counter-Strike, Battlefield 2, UT2004 he gets exactly the same fps as me. Only in games like Oblivion, GRAW, and other shader heavy games he sees a benefit.

I upgraded from an X1800XT to the X1900XT for pretty much Oblivion and FEAR. The BIOS flash to an X1900XTX made it even more worth it. Source based games won't get much improvement. Maybe a few FPS because of the higher core and memory.
