1800+ @ 2.30Ghz(T-bred B) or 2500+ @ 2.20Ghz (Barton) ??

I'd go fot the T-bred over the Barton for the sheer headroom. In most apps, you would be faster with the extra mhz than the extra 256 k L2 cache anyways. Most don't have mondo-multitasking going on everyday anyways. That would be the only time I would opt for the Barton.

Personally I own two Bartons and I think Barton is the biggest fluke AMD made in years. Fake ratings that makes Intel people laugh at. Beside it is harder to overclock in majority motherboards, even if they claim to support it. If a XP T'bred goes 100 MHz higher I would choose it over Barton in no time, that is all.
Talking about superpi, my Barton 2500 at 2.231 GHz, as in 194x11.5, does 47 sec for 1 MB, 1 min 47 sec for 2 MB. But I think this something to do with memory timings as well. In either case it sucks since my Pentium 2.4C @ 3.2 GHz does 2 MB in 1 min 39 sec.

My Barton at 2.3 Ghz just did the 1 MB one in 45 seconds, and the 2 MB one in 1 minute 42 seconds...
Anyone with a T-Bred at 2.3 wanna run it and see what they get?

Allo Jeff!

I did a run on super pi 1 mo @ 200*11,5=2300 mhz and it takes 44 secs on my system.

Though I think my mobo is slightly better than yours (i'm using an abit nf7 2.0) and I dunno what timings you use. I have 512 mb Twinmos on 2-2-2-11 timings.

And I use win2k.. Dunno if there is a difference between xp and win2k.

It will also do super pi 1 mo in 41 secs at 2420 mhz (220*11 @ 2-2-2-11) AND @ 40 secs @ 2520 (219*11,5 2-2-2-11) but that isn't entirely stable in 3d.

UT2003 botmatch benchmarks at 1024 x 768 with a 2100+ and 2500+, both at 2400MHz:

2100+: 79 FPS
2500+: 84 FPS

In the games I play a Tbred needs to be about 200MHz faster to equal a Barton.

I saw it for something like $12. shipped in FS/T but that was two weeks ago. The free demo has the benchmark utility. The benchmark changes its settings depending on your video card. So if you have a 9700 pro or better it will set the highest detail level. Or you can edit it so that it sets highest detail by default.

Yeah... I had the demo version before... ran it on my "Ti4600" but don't remember my scores... I assume it used maximum detail... but possibly not. Only thing is, you can't run a botmatch bench with the demo... or can you????
