It's getting harder to find a case of beer these days but the damn 18 packs seem to be everywhere. Whose brilliant idea was this? Is this some type of trick to get us to buy more beer?

Read it backwards.

At any decent distributor, they have cases.

Although they did raise prices in NY a year or two back to combat underage binge drinking, and also reformed the keg buying policies.

I'm not sure what assbackward state/city/town you live in, but finding a case of beer is as easy as finding a 6/12/18 pack here.

Maybe you're just slow and all the real alcoholics buy up the 24s before you get there.

Funny, I can find 6/12/18/24 pack sizes at the liquor store next door.

Okay maybe I should be a bit more specific. Grocery and liquor stores etc... generally have cases although they are not always cold. The conveneince stores rarely ever have cases anymore but instead they have the damn 18 packs. I'm a lazy bastard and I only buy cold beer so I can drink right after I buy, becuase if buying beer for myself it means I am out. And if I get invited to a party, BBQ etc.. to hangout I stop and grab beer at the easiest store to stop on the way rather than spend 30 minutes at the grocery store. If I know there will be at least 4 people who will be drinking then I like to buy a case.

For those who think I'm from BFE. In the past year I have lived in New Orleans, South Florida, and now I'm in Austin Texas

fits easily on a mid sized shelf in your fridge, provides more depth than a 12 pack

for my money, the 30 pack is the way to go.
For instance...where I buy beer, for Busch light, a 12 pack is $0.54 a can, 18 pack is $0.56 a can, 30 pack is $0.46 a can

The trick is getting us to spend money buying 18 beers at a time when we really want 24.

I got my case of High Life tonight for $11.99 but the 18 packs of bud/coors etc... were $12.99

I'm glad I am not the only cheap bastard who has done the math.

It's pretty much impossible around here to find a 24 pack of cans.

If you're talking about bottles, then you're absolutely right.

As another random thought enters my brain...

Now, I get the whole 6/12/18/24 theory, all good things come divisible by 6.

Whats up with the 20 packs of bottles? That really seems like an odd number. 24 beers will get you drunk, but 20 only gets you warmed up. ;)

girls drink bottles, thus the lower quantity (why do you think they have a penis shaped head on the bottle??)

First step toward... getting drunk? Too late for that. :p
