From the specs, it doesn't appear as good as the Acer FP855 from E-Cost for $899 (after a $100 rebate).

LG 880LC:
Brightness = 200 cd/m2(200 nits, typical)
Contrast Ratio = 250:1 (typical)
Maximum Resolution = 1280 x 1024 @ 75 HZ

Acer FP855:
Contrast Ratio = 300:1
Brightness = 235 cd/m²

I have an Gateway FPD1500 (LG Electronics is the manufacturer) and it had been wonderful to me. 200 nits, contrast buttons on the front. I've been incredibly happy with it. I think they make very good LCD's.
