thanks for your input

anandtech rules!

since u want to use it for dvd's i would recommend the crt. Maybe you should get the dell p1110 from dell.com like before july 19 since it's only $640 dollars shipped. It's a great monitor for a great price.

If you're thinking of an LCD with video, I'd highly suggest one with under a 40ms response time.

The CRT is preferable in most (nearly all) situations. You will get higher resolutions, you wont have to worry about native resolution, and the lag time is not as signifigant. If you are spending that sort of money, check out Sony's 24" widescreen monitor. I think they are going for about 1600$ new at present, I personally LOVE mine. The only problem with it, is that if you are using it in a buisness enviroment, it kind of intimidates some people.

CTR probably better for most applications. But weighs over 100 lbs and about the size of drew carey.

<< size of drew carey >>

LOL! :Q

But I would get LCD...high tech and much more elegant..more like jennifer love hewitt

I'll get LCD since it's easier on your eyes for surfing and reading text.
I would probably not get LCD for gaming though typical is around 50ms
compare to crt around 5-10ms.

Once it use lcd on my laptop I can't go back using crt.
I'm in front of my computer from 8AM-2AM every day though.

I use 2020u right now, waiting for my L771 come in from Dell.
I missed the 20% deal, I only got 10% but it's still a good deal.

Cheers,

RL
