I recently purchased a samsung 712N from bestbuy.com and picked it up at my local best buy. I believe this is the exact same monitor as the 710N, but either a different generation or slightly renamed to avoid price-matching. Anyways, it has all the same specs as the 710N.
I bought it at a bricks and mortar store so I could return it for any reason (read: dead pixels).
The screen I received has zero noticeable dead pixels, I'm still looking for one hiding in a corner, but as far as I can tell it is flawless.
It has a beautiful screen, great brightness and contrast, and the colors look well saturated. I did some quick tests in unreal tournement, and didn't notice any ghosting whatsoever.
This monitor should run you about $400. It will have a little bit of a price premium over a no-name brand, but I think with a large investment like a monitor, it's better to pay a wee bit more for samsung's (or another big-name) quality control.
I've been extremely pleased with this screen, and would recommend it to everyone.
