I have a Windstream package, all on one bill:
Dish Network for TV, Telephone w/ all the fancy-schamcy options + free long distance nationwide, and 1.5 MBs DSL for a total of $129.00 a month.

I pay

Cable TV (Basic Digital Package): $49
Roadrunner: $35 (company discount)
SunRocket VoIP: $16
Total: $100

Might drop cable since everything I watch is on network TV anyway.

Roadrunner advertises it's :All-In-One" packages all the time for $100. It's a scaled down internet speed but everything is there. Don't know the specifics though.

Phone: $30 (basic)
Cable TV: $57 (basic + 1 package, not digital)
Internet DSL: $50 (price has gone up from starting $40)

All prices CDN. After conversion, no, you're not average. It's pretty high. Could cancel those premium channels; $10 ($15 here for some) is way too much for a single channel. Just wait for the DVD or syndication. If you downgrade your internet, you'd save roughly the same amount.

I'm paying $145 after taxes and fees (final bill amount) for all movie channels, 2 cable cards, and all non-premium packages, cable modem, and unlimited local & long distance.

Cable Television (With HBO): 49.00 + 10.00 = ~60 + A few small things = $75
High Speed Cable Internet: 44.99
Digital Phone: 39.99
Total (With Misc. Things): 179.99

Also on the bill:
Digital Converter Box: 8.00 per month
all inclusive bill.. and my dad said 2 weeks ago they raised the bill to 154, then this week its 179.

Is there any fine print anyone knows of.... that says that this bill will increase? I know certain companys promote digital phone/cable etc.. for a low STARTING COST.. but I'm talking about being a customer for YEARS. My dad is not one to call screaming "WTF!", he's a very calm person and I don't see him complaining (to an extent).. Edit: I tried stating this in my last point, he will not call and: "threaten to cancel, they will lower the bill. " He will however, at least question why the bill is so high.

I want to keep this speed for my cable.. but I don't want my dad to cancel it due to it being almost 180 a month... He doesn't know what Skype or VOIP even is.. So I wouldn't start with that.

What can I do? Or what can I tell my dad to do? Anything? '

verizon DSL $17.99
Verizon basic phone service $23 (including al taxes)
built in Rabbit ears on TV for basic channels $0

Damn.

Verizon basic phone & 3mb/768k DSL - $53
Charter expanded basic & 5mb/512k HSI - $85

I feel like we have a lot of value for what we pay. I need the second internet connection as a backup for working from home.

that is the reason i don't get cable tv or phone. i play as flat fee only for earthlink and thats it. i don't see how that too much. except you could call time warner and bundle up the packages to save money.

I pay $98/month for cable internet and TV. Included in that price is an extra $10 per month for HBO and an extra $3 per month for the sports channels and an extra $8 or $9 per month for my DVR.

I pay about $50 a month for a home phone. But I need to turn off my cell phone. I'm paying another $50/month to send and receive text messages which is ridiculous because I hardly ever actually 'talk' on my cell phone. My text messages aren't worth $50/month.
