*edit* problem solved...(we figured out 1 admin name/pw and reset all the other names)
my mom has somehow switched her laptop from not asking for her password on startup to once again prompting for a password, and it's been too long since she entered it manually. she had to change it around every week or so at her last job, just rotating the last number, but somehow none of these work. we're not even sure what the user name was, since the default one doesn't seem to be the right one.
anyways, does anyone know a safe way to recover the nt password? ive found a site (www.loginrecovery.com) that might be the best way, but they require 2 days or more to reply back with the decrypted password. ive found some boot images that might allow us to set the password but im afraid that there is efs (encrypted files) that we might never again be able to access w/o the password.
in a way, id be happy to know that there is no easy way to solve this problem since i also use windows on my box.
