It's f'in Grand Forks. That has to be the one pursuit this year, and the only two times you'll draw your weapon for the next 3 years.

I believe the suspect is being charged with DUI, possession of marijuana, reckless driving, fleeing, and speeding. He is 20 years old.

Not going to be charged with almost running over an officer?

Why didn't you shoot the guy????

All the necessary prerequisites are there:

1. You have your gun out.
2. It's loaded.
2. There's someone to shoot.

I was close to it, but luckily we were able to resolve the situation without deadly force. I had a perfect angle through the back window, too.

I lived in Grand Forks from 80-84, it sucked. Luckily I was little enough that the mental damage of living out in the middle of nowhere and eating ice cream at Dairy Queen in the winter is minor.

I do have flashbacks though.

The city has changed since then. Now we can eat ice cream from TCBY or Cold Stone Creamery in the winter, too.

Wow man... sounds like fun. I was thinking of taking the test to become a state trooper. Can you offer any advise or suggestions? I still have about 8 months until I'm 21, and thus able to take the test.

Get shot at for $40,000 a year, that doesn't sound like fun. But I respect those brave enough to do it.
