I bought retail cause I needed a HSF for another comp, and I had seen a few posts that ppl were getting a few T-bred Rev. A mixed in with the B rev. chips from NE when they ordered OEM chips. Plus the day I ordered the price diff was only $7.00

4/4 = April 4th 4/7 = April 7th

On the other hand, there's a guy in another forum who's a good OCer, and he got 2 retail chips for customer builds that turned out to be DLT chips that both went over 2.3GHz and passed long Prime runs! Both ordered from NewEgg at one time....

Ordered a week ago. Retail box...was hearing that many oem's were coming back rev A, and that retail was a better bet at a rev B.

Got a J1UHB0310XPMW DLT3C :D

Have had a bunch of work to do, but I will push it a bit this weekend. Seeing as how it's for a buddy, I would be content with 166x12. 2 GHz for $59 ( I think) isn't anything to laugh at.

Just checked, Newegg has the retail boxes up to $67 now and the oem's down to $49

I got my hands onto a 1700+ from a friend of mine and since I am running an ABIT AT7-MAX2 I have to unlock it...which bridges should I play with this time? Is it like the palmino where you connect all the L1's? (RIP my old AGOIA :()

Ordered one (XP1700+ OEM) on 4/14 from NewEgg for $50. AXDA1700DLT3C AIRGA...... default vcore 1.5v.
I think it's a T-bred A. I like to o/c by FSB and not by the clock multiplier. First booted up with my Epox 8rda+ motherboard and had an error with the cpu default speed. I changed it to 11x 166Mhz(default FSB) and it booted fine. Decided to give this thing a shot and o/c FSB to 200Mhz (400Mhz DDR) along with my 512MB 2700 Apacer DDR-RAM also o/c @ 200Mhz (400Mhz DDR) 6-3-3-2.5. Clock could only run stable at 9x (maybe 9.5) at most. Ran very stable for 2 days @ 8x200Mhz FSB = 1600Mhz. Could not get it to run @2000Mhz (2Ghz) with 200Mhz FSB like others have. It might be able to do it if I set the FSB lower, but haven't tried. All this was running with default voltage (1.5v core). Temp ~23ºC to 35ºC. Even with vcore jacked up to 1.8v still don't run 2Ghz with 200Mhz FSB :( . Somewhat disappointed.

Tbred A yuck...
