im kinda new to all this overclocking stuff but was just wondering,i bought a 1700+ and when i installed it,it ran perfectly stable and is running at 38c at load and after a whle night of gaming it only goes to 41c .when i got into overclocking i just upped my fsb to 152 and it crashed in 3dmark loop.i heard you have to connect the bridges to unlock the multiplier for the cpu but when i check my cpu ratio it says i can change it to just about whatever i want up to x14 in .5 steps is it already unlocked??? or do they always say that already and i still need to unlock it..?

Well I know with the Nforce2 chipset, the Thoroughbred B cores are unlocked, but it really depends on your Mobo. Why don't you just try it? Change the Multiplier, and reboot, if it reads another speed, and you confirm with WCPUID then its unlocked.

Most of the TBred Bs are unlocked on most MBs. I am using an old Epox 8k7a and I have all multipiers to choose from.

If your system will not boot after changing the multiplier, check your MB manuel and clear the cmos by shorting the jumper. This will reset your multiplier to the default.

Good luck!

if it doesn't boot after changing fsb or multiplier, turn off the comp then turn it on while holding insert key.
